In Chapter 8, some security issues are discussed, such as viruses, unauthorized access and use, and information theft. Viruses can affect every aspect of a computer, from the hard drive, to the internet's functioning capabilities, to even how some applications work. Some things that have been implemented to prevent viruses are programs that scan regularly for them and then eliminate the threat before it becomes too great. Hackers are an example of unauthorized access, and they can break into your computer from another location and get to everything one it. Information theft is the biggest security risk because assumed identity happens, and people can get credit card and other important information to use against you. There have been many things implemented to prevent security risks, such as e-mail spam blocker, virus protection software, encoded password access, and unauthorized accessing shutdown to prevent any information from leaking out.

A new skill I have acquired in this class has been the custom animation technique on power point. I never knew you could draw your own animation path for an object in a presentation, as well as insert a custom sound to the animation. It was really helpful to acquire this skill, because it will make my presentations in the classroom more entertaining and pleasing to the senses.

Something I could share with the class is that Strozier is now 24/5. Not just for exams, but for the rest of the year! Sundays-Thursdays are 24 hours. The librarians are also available 24 hours as well! It is really great to have a place to study for those certain all nighters that sitting in your room or dorm cannot accomplish. I am really glad that the university did this.
